WHY CHOOSE A CAST?
A cast is a moment captured in time that brings comfort and peace during periods of loss. A respectful, highly detailed impression, it can help to keep the memory of a loved one alive, preserving their essence to share with future generations.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
I aim to be as caring and respectful as possible, making sure not to disturb those resting and leaving them as peaceful as when I arrived. I will take my time getting to know you, finding out what you want to achieve from my visit. I understand it can be very overwhelming to see a loved one who has passed and there is no requirement for you to be present at the time of the cast. If you do wish to be present, however, perhaps to hold your loved one’s hand, this can also be arranged. Once the cast has been filled, it takes approximately 4 weeks to dry, at which point I will take my time to refine, seal, airbrush and topcoat your keepsake. The whole process takes between 2 & 5 months, but I will keep you informed every step of the way. I consider each memorial cast a privilege and honour to carry out. Life casting allows parents to acknowledge and honour their childs existence, even if their life was brief. It provides a physical connection and sense of comfort, which can be shared with others to facilitate conversations and help with the experience of baby loss.
