A cast is a tangible memory that can provide solace and tranquility during times of grief. It's a dignified, meticulously crafted impression that helps to capture the memory of a loved one, holding onto their essence to cherish and share with generations to come.
In early 2023, I had the privilege of meeting the family of Theo, a young boy who tragically passed away at a young age.
I had the honour of creating a casting of Theo with his parents holding his hands.
After receiving the cast, Theo's family reached out and expressed how having the castings at home has helped them greatly.
To honour Theo's memory, Theo’s legacy has been set up as a benevolent fund to support families dealing with the loss of a child up to the age of 16years. This aims to ease the financial strain for parents/families during such a difficult time, offering solace to the families by preserving their child's memory through 3D hand casting.
All proceeds generated will be utilised to create a cast of a child or baby’s hand. This fundraising effort is ongoing with no specific target amount to be raised.
